this is the script i used

DirectShowSource("source.mkv")
textsub("source.ass")

I tried converting to AVI as well but they are both out of sync, this doesn't happen in the Original MKV file but only after converting. i even tried different applications like "Avidemux" but came out with the same problem.

please i need major help :stupid:

Try "DirectShowSource("source.mkv", fps=30/1.001, convertfps=true)".

it worked !!!!!!

i been searchin for 2 months and this is all it takes? thank you sneaker_ger i love you if you were a girl i would marry you and if your not i will still marry you.

but one more thing what is it anyway "fps=30/1.001, convertfps=true" i mean is it okay to put this command on every clip?

The problem comes from your source clip, which uses a variable framerate. Most likely it's some anime where the framerate switches between 23.976 (=24/1.001) and 29.97 (=30/1.001). The former is mostly used for the show itself (so using "DirectShowSource("source.mkv", fps=24/1.001, convertfps=true" might be even better), while the latter is often used for the OP/ED/Credits. AviSynth itself does not handle variable framerate and one way to solve this problem is to let the source filter do a VFR -> CFR conversion, which we did here by specifying "fps=30/1.001, convertfps=true".
Another possibility is to make a VFR mp4, which is a bit more complicated. (And you will most likely not gain anything as long as you're using the PS3 for playback)

So, to come back to your question:
is it okay to put this command on every clip?
As long as the source clip is mostly 30/1.001 fps: yes. I'd suggest you to also try 24/1.001, it will work better on most modern shows. If your source has constant 24/1.001 fps or constant 30/1.001 fps this command has no effect.

one last thing

the mp4 came out perfectly but it said corrupted when i play it through PS3.

these are the choices
Video
Encoder settings : x264 PlayStation 3
File format : MP4

Audio
Encoder settings : Aften AC-3 *scratchpad*

i'm converting now to AVI and see what will happen.

The PS3 probably does not support AC3 in MP4. (Could be more reasons, but this is one of them)

/edit: also try to limit the video to level 4.1. I don't know if the PS3 allows files flagged level 4.2 or higher.
/edit2: just read on another site, that it allows level 4.2 since firmware 2.01. I don't have a PS3 so I cannot verify this.
/edit3: here's another user with the same problem: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=156410
seems like you could switch to a patched x264 build (http://x264.fushizen.eu/?p=314) or set the x264 output to raw, and then mux later (with AAC audio and not AC3).
