View Full Version : MPC-HC 25hz content slow down to 24hz?

I just got a new HDTV that supports 24hz. Right now I've got my HTPC driving it at 1080p24hz with the latest 64bit MPC-HC. I've set sync to 'sync to display' and all my 24hz content plays great without any dropped frames or stuttering. However, 25hz content stutters. Is there a way for MPC-HC to just playback 25hz content at 24hz and do the appropriate audio slow down? I can't seem to find a straight answer by googling.

AFAIK, only ReClock will do that.

it not only accours at 24p - 24Hz because also with 60p Material and 60Hz. Somehow when the framerate equals the refreshrate EVR cannot sync it on Ati cards. Using VMR9 solved the problem, BUT with Ati cards VMR9 does not work in Vista + Mediaportal, so i only got it to work using MPC HC.

The answer is to install reclock and configure it to slowdown the video and the audio to 24hz.

Wouldn't it be great to have a filter that just does this, and so any player like mpc-hc can use it in between the decoder and the renderer... maybe speedchange.dll :) Any takers :)

Erm... that's what reclock is :)
More properly it's an audio renderer, but it's still usable outside MPC-HC

I suppose but with limitations that its not open source, when bugs / niggles are reported they are not looked into etc. and x86 only. A very simple open source version of the same would be great, but just the rate change part. That way development doesn't come to a standstill when the main developer has other things to be doing.
Reclock is unusable for me and many atm because it can't detect the correct display refresh rate, often thinking its 60hz when its actually 24hz for example... but this has been reported months ago and no sign of it being looked into....
