I have used my Canon digital camera at my granddaughter's wedding and college graduations and during each of the occasions I have taken jpeg photos and during the same session added avi's for the action shots.
I have tried numerous Video programs attempting to install the jpegs and the avi's but cannot. I can use the program for the jpegs/slide show but cannot include the avi's. I then use the same program and install the avi's seperately. This requires 2 DVD's;i.e. one for the jpegs and another for the avi's.The DVD count is no problem but it is messy . I would appreciate any information or advice which direction to go...Thanx...

Welcome to the Forum,

I believe DVDSlideshowGUI can do what you want:

Don't be fooled by the name. It also allows for the import of AVI video.

Doesn't even Windows Movie maker allow to insert still images into movie? Not talking about other (nonfree) video creation tools, like Cyberlink Powerdirector?

Or I have misunderstood your needs.

To add pictures into video, if you are on Windows, you can use Windows Movie Maker; if on Mac, use iMovie. Use the program to generate video, and then use DVD burner program to burn it to DVD.

That DVD burner should understand the output of WMM, like it's here documented by MicroSoft -> http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/create/savetodvd.mspx.
