how do i play h.264/avc files with mpc?
ive got a dvb-t usb stick and it records in that format.
mpc only plays audio...
(i've got k-lite mega codec pack installed)
MPC-HC has an integrated H.264 decoder. No need for extra codec packs. If this libavcodec-based decoder is too slow, install ffdshow-tryouts that contains a variant named ffmpeg-mt, which is threaded better.
maybe someone can try this clip and see if it works with mpc-hc?

mkay... any ideas why does the k-lite meda codec pack come with mpc-hc versions then? if it has codecs already built in?:s
the file is now playing for me too, but the aspect ratio is not correct?

Aspect ratio is correct for me.
Which decoder is used? Click right "Play">"Filters">"MPC Video Decoder" and see "Read AR from stream".

i have no idea, why you installed the K-Lite-Codec Pack...deinstall it, you don't need it for playback. MPC-HC has got built-in Filters. You can check this in the options-dialog under "Internal Filters" - better check them all on...unless you do not have special dshow-decoders you want to use (like CoreAVC or similar)
and: be sure to use the newest build of MPC HC..

i think i need to make a clip with some faces on it, because the aspect ratio is weird and i had that AR thing ticked.
also... it doesnt play flash files and video files from small photocameras? (flash wont even start and cam files picture freezes, with normal sound)

so maybe i could get the h.264/avc work with codec pack instead of trying to make everything else work with mpc-hc?

If you don't get any error message, then it is most likely a splitter issue. Haali Media Splitter might not like your file. Enable the internal MPEG source filter in MPC-HC settings.
