I've been converting DVD's to x264 mkv's for a while now, and noticed just recently that if I use DTS sound set to SP/DIF passthrough, I get about 20ms jitter and the frame rate jumps around between 23.97 and 24.03 fps.

Is this a bug or did I possibly configure something wrong? is it even worth keeping the DTS track or should I just use AC3?

I've only tried to use DTS on 3 movies so far as most things don't come with it, specifically The Lion King, Event Horizon, and Moulin Rouge.

you have not configured your dts output properly. plus use ffdshow

There appears to be only one page for DTS output settings, and I simply clicked the SPDIF radio button and set it to 3 Front + 2 Rear, and checked the LFE box. What else is there to configure?

when you click spdif, it overrides the other stuff, so it doesnt matter what you put for speaker configuration.

My suggestion would be to make sure your player and everything is up to date.
