View Full Version : BD25 is jerky after BD-RB-processing

Hello,
after a compression of a BD50 the result done by BD-RB is really good. Only one thing annoys me strongly: every 4-5 seconds there's a little shaking (jerking) as if there are some frames missing/dropped.
The problem occurs in all playback software PowerDVD, WinDVD, VLC, MediaPlayerClassic, ...
How can I solve that problem :(?

Upgrade your computer - it looks like the CPU/HDD power is not enough to process the data, maybe defragment the HDD on which the BD25 resides ;)

I really don't think it has something to do with that ;)
Also: The jerking is not happening with the uncompressed blu-ray.
My system:
Intel Core i5 750 (Quad)
Samsung SpinPoint F1 1000GB
4 GB RAM G.Skill
ASUS GTX 470
When it has something to do with the hardware, wouldn't the original BD be also jerky?

To be sure that your PC is not the cause, burn it on a BD-RE and test it on a standalone. If it's the material, then the defect would be visible there too.

When it has something to do with the hardware, wouldn't the original BD be also jerky? No. The output is AVC and the original could be something else. So it's not apples to apples. One CODEC could act completely differently than another. From my experience, I can't trust reports of playback issues from software players. You'll also notice a lack of other reports of stuttering. If something BD-RB did caused stuttering you'd expect a huge number of reports, not just one.
Please try it on a standalone and report back.

I think I should do that, you're right. But I don't own one at the moment. But after christmas I should ;)
