View Full Version : Transport Stream files?

I can capture television programmes from my satellite receiver onto usb storage. They are saved as files with a 'ts' extension.
GSpot shows these files to be "File Type: MPEG-2 Transport Stream. Mime Type: video/mp2t"
AutoGK claims to be able to accept TS files, but when I offer one to it I get the warning "No video streams were found".
Ideas, anyone - please?

I don't know what country you are in and it is important to know because there are several flavours of TS files by jurisdiction. Here in Australia TS files are MPEG2 video with MPA audio and/or AC3 on some transmissions, together with srt subtitles.
If you file fits this format and the video is not H264 then either ProjectX or MPEGStreamclip can convert the TS file to bog standard MPEG2 sans all the rubbish. AutoGK will quite happily handle the resultant file.

Software with "ts" in their name can usually take any TS file and convert/correct/repack it, like eg tsremux, tsmuxer and so on. If these fail, then the stream itself is defective somehow.

So, according to your logic, if I load a .ts in "Crystal Reports" and it fails, the stream is corrupted?
Just kidding, I know what you mean but your first statement could be quite irritating for a newbie.

Well I assume a newbie is just uninformed not stupid. :)
Especially when 2 examples of working software have been already given.
