@jdobbs
Until such time as "DTS Express" is decodable by BD Rebuilder, would it be possible to somehow extract and save that (typically there's only one) audiostream for potential future use, when it's decodable, in a way that won't require re-ripping the entire disc?

If you do... rip it to an M2TS stream. The new code is working with M2TS files (including the clock packets etc...).

If you do... rip it to an M2TS stream.You misunderstand my request.
I'm asking if BD-RB could extract that audiostream for later inclusion.
(I personally don't have a clue as to how to extract the DTSExpress audiostream)

I have a program I wrote that extracts it to an M2TS file... but I'm away from my office for a few more days. I'll forward it to you when I get back. I'm actually developing a standalone CLI program (that BD-RB will call) that merges the DTS Express (or other stream like IGS) into the output M2TS from TSMUXER.

NICE work jdobbs, if you need some extra testers i'd be happy to lend a hand. got plenty of DTS-E discs waiting to be backed up

@jdobbs (or anyone else who knows)
At this late date, I'm afraid I'm a bit unclear about the nature of the difficulty with "DTS Express" audio (So far, only noted as part of "PIP" videos?):
What is the reason it can't be copied "as is" (not converted) and included in a BD-Rebuilder project - and then played back, as is done with other audiostreams?

Only eac3to can demux the dts express track and no free muxers can handle it. Therefore, either TSMuxer needs to be updated to handle it, or someone has to write their own programme.

@drmih
Hi and thanks for the feedback!
However, I must question one of your points. You say:Only eac3to can demux the dts express track Actually, as an experiment, I used MakeMKV to convert such a video to an .MKV - and then was able to use MKVCleaver to extract the DTS Express audiostream.
Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any software player that will playback an .MKV containing a DTS Express audiostream, so I have no way of confirming that the stream is valid (Other than the fact that neither program generated any error report).

The big issue is remuxing it - I have heard of various ways of extracting it but unless after the video is compressed it can be recombined, it's all hyperthetical.

Yes, I understand - and that's why I only made a point about being able to demux.
Thanks again for your feedback/input ;>}

I hope for Jdobbs sake that Roman doesnt return and update tsmuxer :)I'd rather he did... it would save a lot of time in the reintegration of the stream. Right now I have to essentially repeat what TSMUXER could complete (with only one stream).
