View Full Version : BD Rebuilder - extras only backup?

It might seem like a strange request, but is there any way to make an extras only backup (with menu) using BD RB?
I like to backup the main movie to x264 mkv for compatibility with my media streamers, but would love to be able to create a BD5 or BD9 of (compressed) extras with full menu, but with the main movie 'blanked out'... similar to what DVD Shrink can do with DVDs.
Is it possible? If not with BD RB, does anyone know of another program that could do this?
Thanks in advance for any help!

To answer my own question, I've now figured out how to do this (in case anyone else is interested).
1) Open full BDMV folder in ClownBD Copier: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=40349.
2) Select all streams except main movie and write ISO file.
3) Mount ISO file in Daemon Tools or equivalent.
4) Load mounted ISO into BD Rebuilder and compress as required.
Voila: an extras disc with menu compressed to BD5 or BD9 without the main movie; exactly what I wanted.

Hi!
What's the point/need in creating an .ISO image file?
Once you've made this "movieless" disc, what happens if you click on "Play"?

I assume nothing. I figure he'd be using the "bonus features" alone or whatever the extras are labelled for that movie on that particular movie.

Huh?
This is what the OP said: Voila: an extras disc with menu compressed to BD5 or BD9 without the main movie; exactly what I wanted.

setarip_old: Ch3vr0n is correct, I wanted to create a BD5 or BD9 with menu containing ONLY the bonus features (extras), since I usually encode the movie to mkv for compatibility with media streamers. If I press PLAY MOVIE (or the equivalent) on the created disc, nothing happens.

ClownBD only outputs to ISO and MDS.

Thank you for explaining (Since it's certainly not necessary to create an [intermediate step] .ISO image file in order to either process with BD-Rebuilder or to burn to disc)...
