First of all let me say this is a great program. I am having difficulties with compressing any blu-rays with VC-1 files.

I have FFDshow installed, I believe it was auto installed by CoreAVC, and I have checked and in the video decoder configuration window, under Codecs the VC-1 setting is to wmv 9. By the way I am running windows 7 64bit. The FFDshow version says "revision 3111 may 24, 2010".

I think this is a different version than is linked in the main BD-rebuilder thread but I believe on my other computer I have that version and I am still getting failures. it seems to work on small VC-1 files but on large ones it does not (or there may be some other factor).

Are there other settings in FFDshow that I need to change, or something else I need to do to get it to work with VC-1 files? Any help would be great and thanks in advance.

Here is the log from one of my failures:

If you want BD-RB to work for you, regardless of the original Blu-ray structure, you need to follow a few basic guidelines. Do not install ANY other codec packs except the ones listed on the first page of this thread.
So uninstall CoreAVC first. Then uninstall ffdshow. Then uninstall haali and delete the haali folder within the Programs folder of Windows. Uninstall avisynth. Reboot.
Now install only the programs listed on the first page of this thread.
Open BD-RB's unzipped folder and delete the file BDREBUILDER.ini.
Then right click on REG_MSCOMCTL and select Run as Administrator.
Then right click on BD-RB.exe and select Run as Administrator.
You should be ready to backup almost any original Blu-ray now. ;)

Thanks Capsbackup, I will try that and let you know how it works.

I am afraid I followed the instructions and it did not solve my problem.

1) I uninstalled everything, including my codec pack for windows 7 and then reinstalled using the versions from the links in the main thread.

2) I changed ffdshow in the ways indicated in the main thread, and then did what you suggested with the bd-rebuilder files.

When I run with programs that have the VC-1 files I do see the icon for the Haali media splitter in the system tray but the ffdshow icon(s) never pops up and eventually I get the "encode failed" message like above log shows. It seems like the ffdshow never loads/gets called.

Anyone else with any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

You must have another codec pack with priority over ffdshow. Do you have a firewall blocking ffdshow from running? You did not post the Inspect log, so does it report OK for all?
It can be frustrating, but really should be quite simple if the above mentioned is done properly.
Look in your installed programs to see if there might be something else present.
