Cutting HD video stream at frame boundaries

Hello,

I'm looking for a tool to cut HD video streams (mkv and/or m2ts) at frame boundaries; like I want to take out a segment from frame 12400 to 15955, for example. Haven't found something like that yet (surprisingly); but surely there must be video-editing tools that can do this.

Nope, it will re-encode it


The only thing that comes close is videoredo 4 beta. It smart renders (so re-encodes the frames within a GOP when cuts are made within a GOP, rest is passed through untouched). It was quite buggy last time I tested, and doesn't support mkv container . I think we will have to wait until it comes out of beta for it to be perfect

Of course, there's avidemux, tsmuxer, and mkvmerge, but they are not frame accurate (cuts are on keyframes)

I thought I mentioned that; guess not. :) It's h264.
