Can anyone tell me if there is any simple ways to convert Dolby 5.1 to DTS? I have been knocking myself reading posts here and elsewhere and experimenting with variosd apps trying to understand how to corrct the volume and dynamic issues with the vanilla AC3 audio that comes in my Music Video DVDs without success.

Many of the threads I see are old, or overly complicated, or attempting to do other things like convert the 5.1 to stereo. I'm trying to go the opposite direction: enhance the AC3 sound, or convert it to 6-channel DTS.

Does anyone have any simple recipies for doing this taht don't require a MIT degreee in audio encoding. At this pint, I don't even mind spending money on an app if it will handle this task (and also convert any 2-channel AAC to 6-channel sound (DD or DTS) with the same results with the audio.

Any help is appreciated.. Flaming is not.

The only app that will encode to DTS is Surcode DTS (http://www.minnetonkaaudio.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=54&Itemid=87&lang=en), will be your easiest and cheapest bet ...

Or DTS Surround Audio Suite (http://www.dts.com/Pro_Audio_Products/DTS_Products/DTS_Surround_Audio_Suite_TM/Overview.aspx)

BTW, you can't improve the audio quality recoding to other format, always you have less quality.
Other question is if you want edit the audio, but after the edition you can encode to AC3 with equivalent quality than DTS.

For stereo aac to surround dts you may use foobar 2000 and suitable plugins for aac decoding along with channel mixer and ATsurround[upmixing foo plugins]...save as wav.You shall obtain a multichannel wav...neat,huh?
Multichannel wav to dts can be done using Audiomuxer[Surroundbyus] wich detects and use your installed version of minnetonka's dvd cd surcode pro or/and arcsoft's dts encoder-decoder[Arcsoft total media theatre 3].
Have a nice day,
