SubtitleCreator doesn't open my .sup files

Hello.

I want to convert BluRay subtitles to SRT. I did some research on the internet, here's what I'rve already done:

- I ripped the Blu-Ray using DVDFAB to my harddisk
- I demuxed the subtitles with ripbot
- I downloaded SupRip and tried to convert the subs to .srt via OCR, but SupRip did a very bad job indeed
- I wanted to convert my sup to an idx file, because subrip does a way better ocr job, so I wanted to convert the converted idx file to srt with Subrip
- I downloaded subtitlecreator, because that application would be able to convert the sup into an idx file

And then I was in trouble. SubtitleCreator just doesn't open that .sup file! It keeps saying it's an invalid .sub file. What do I have to do now?

Are getting mixed up between "sub" and "sup"? - SubtitleCreator: Converts SubRib (*.srt) or MicroDVD (*.sub) files to IfoEdit (*.sup) files.
It's not supposed to open your "sup" file, it makes "sup" files, it wants a "sub" or "srt" file.

Then why does it say 'sup' when you are opening a file? When I try to open a file, one of the possible inputs is sup.

SubtitleCreator opens SUP files from DVDs. If the ones from Blu-Ray movies are different somehow, then that would explain it.

I can't download the subs, I just want to rip my .sup files to idx or text. Is there any program that does support .sup files, any program that does convert them to srt? Suprip did a horrible job.

I'm one of the main developpers of SubtitleCreators. At present the development has been stopped because of lack of time by Paddington and myself.

Actually there are 3 formats of sup files which are internally very different:
-The original .sup file format that corresponds to DVD subtitles --> Supported by SubtitleCreator.
-The HDDVD .sup file format (however the HDDVD file format is dead now). --> Supported partly by SubtitleCreator.
-The Blu-ray .sup file format. It is not supported yet by SubtitleCreator and this is your problem.

The main purpose of SC is to convert srt files to the sup format. There is an OCR function in SC based on the OCR integrated within MSOffice but I don't think it's working that well. As I mentioned in my previous reply, currently SC's development is stalled. So don't count on a Blu-ray support before long.

The best solution for you is to use Suprip even if it's not working the way you think it should. Or you can develop your own open-source software.
