Hi,
Does BD-RB's 1080p / 720p MKV output use all the same blu-ray compliant settings that its regular output uses? (just in case I need to remux back to BD structure in the future)

That isn't true of iPOD and iPAD MP4 output, though -- they have special constraints. Also, currently the MKV audio is always condensed to DD 2.0 and only the first selected audio stream is kept, but you'll probably see that change soon.

Ok excellent, thanks.
One other question - I'd used eac3to demux the video stream and re-encode the DTSHD audio stream to 256kbps 2.0 AC3 and then muxed the two together with tsMuxer. I changed the aBitrate setting to 256kbps and the default CRF to 18 and started the encode. All went well but BD-RB re-encoded the audio track again to 256kbps AC3. Is there anyway I can avoid this?

Don't reencode the first time. BD-RB is designed to work with originals, not preprocessed sources.

The subject of preprocessed sources should definately be added to the "BD Rebuilder (BD-RB) Frequently Asked Questions" list. :(

But BD-RB would only re-encode using the lossy core, which is why I preprocessed with eac3to. No problem though, I'll just demux the processed video stream and remux with the audio stream from eac3to :)

So you actually think somehow that using the HD source is going to make a difference on a 256Kbs DD 2.0 output?
Oh well... do what you want.

Whether or not it makes a difference is highly subjective. I believe it does. However that isn't really related to my question - the question being can I get BD-RB to avoid re-encoding an audio stream that is already at the target of 256kbps 2.0.
As for doing what I want -I use the tools which best help me achieve my end goal, of which BD-RB is one of those tools. You'll note that I didn't report this as a bug - or even as a problem - I merely asked a question.
Anyway, thanks for the continued support of your great program, and I apologise if you feel I'm mis-using it. That really wasn't my intention!
