Hi All,

Have tried everything I can think of and still just cannot seem to get this to work!

Basically, I have three DVD movies which I would like to back-up as three separate lossless/HQ mpeg-2 files (JUST the movie, no menus, etc). I tried using DVD Shrink with the following settings:

* 100% compression
* No Subtitles
* Just one AC3 5.1 English audio channel
* Each movie saving as a single .vob to then be retitled .mpeg via 'right-click, rename file'.

Unfortunately, although each of the movies seems to have successfully saved as a single .vob, when I play them back through MPC, the audio stream is in German (despite that track being unchecked in Shrink), and the clock says there's only around twenty minutes total runtime for each file - despite the movies playing out as they normally would (aprx. 2 hrs). The scroll bar in MPC also mostly just sticks to one edge of the window during playback.

Furthermore, as a test, I tried importing each of the three mpegs into Pinnacle Studio, and the audio tracks are in English again!

Where am I going wrong? Any/all help greatly appreciated.

Use MakeMKV to get the original video, audio, and subs wrapped in an MKV container.

If you really need an MPEG container: Rip with DVD Decrypter in IFO mode, selecting the main movie title and setting both video and your preferred audio to "demux" (uncheck all other streams). If your audio has a delay value listed, fix it with Delaycut. Mux to MPG with Imago MPEG Muxer.

Try VOB2MPEG (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VOB2MPG/old-versions#download)
I always use the old 2.3 version. It's nice and small and works. Sometimes you have to push the start button 2 times.

Thanks, everyone!

Vob2Mpeg seems to have done the trick! Thanks, again. :D
