Possible Initial Analysis? - Cinavia

"The Karate Kid" is only the second Cinavia release (by the way, this one's SONY - "The Losers" was Warner).

It's conceivable that, this early in testing, both discs use the same "Cinavia" audio pattern. If we are fortunate enough to discover that to be the case, would it be possible for someone to extract those like patterns by comparing audiostreams from the two Blu-rays and eliminating all unlike bits?

If so, it could provide insight regarding the general workings and placement of "Cinavia" watermarking...

Has anyone ascertained that there is, in fact, audio watermarking on "Cinavia"-protected Blu-ray discs?

Perhaps my thought in this regard is a bit farfetched but, what if the entire "Cinavia" concept is a "red herring"? - and the actual identifying factors are simply first noting the fact that the disc is burned media and not pressed ROM (as, from what I've seen, standalones already do) and then determining if the embedded disc title matches that of an official IMDB title (I believe this is copied as part of a Blu-ray backup - But I have to check to make certain)

**EDIT** My mistake regarding the second factor - matching the title doesn't work with "Movie-only" backups...

One of the very early tests was to replace the audio with the corresponding track from the DVD version.
Result: no Cinavia message.

And what if the DVD is/would be also watermarked (no effect on DVD players but to close this opportunity too)?

Yes, you are, of course, correct. Thank you for reminding me that this was mentioned in the other "Cinavia" thread I started here in July, when "The Losers" Blu-ray was released...
