View Full Version : Different audio delay between players

I'm going crazy: I'm fixing a mp4 video with some audio/video sync problems. I got it perfect for VLC and Windows Media Player but Quicktime Player and Flowplayer (SWF) have more delay in audio than the former players! Which player is "right" and how can I have correct sync on all players?

Some details about the format I used (made with Avidemux):
- video: .mp4 / avc1 / 25fps / progressive
- audio: AAC / 2 channels / 48kHz / bitrate varies for some reason, 224kbps chosen and ~164kbps according to MediaInfo
If no other help available, at least what are safe settings for .mp4 videos so that sync (audio delay) will be identical between different video players?

MPC-HC has the same sync as VLC and WMP12. This has to be observed pretty much with eye and ear only, (unless some high-speed screencapture or camcorder is used). My conclusion so far is that better to have the audio about 40-80ms late compared to video. That way the result is acceptable in both types of players.
