I'm trying to restore an old Technicolor film in which the color can vary in several directions over just a few frames due to uneven fading of the color layers. Applying ColorYUV's autowhite does not result in a significant difference. Using a combination of SelectEvery and the motion compensation of MVtoolsMulti to average the chroma over 256 frames with MVdegrain stabilizes the color but is unsatisfactory because it cancels out much of the color detail.
I would like to adjust the offset of the chroma channels of each frame of the original clip to match the average and min/max chroma of the averaged copy automatically using Avisynth, but I don't know how to do it. So I'm hoping someone can spell out for me how it can be accomplished.
