View Full Version : determine date/time of a burn

Is there anyway to determine what date and time a disc was burned? I've tried looking at properties of the disc itself (in Windows), but that doesn't seem to have any date info...
Is the date/time written to the disc somewhere when it's burned?
Problem is- I've burned a disc, and watched the entire thing to make sure it was okay. Now I burned a second disc, but didn't label either of them (my mistake...) and now I don't know which one I've already watched...
Anyone have any tips?

There are several fields filled on burning with the date/time. It's per session.
Which programs allow you to see these it's hard to say, maybe imgburn in Read/Discover mode, definitively any forensic software. If I'm not mistaken, some 10+ years ago Nero came with a sort of session selector, this proggy disappeared after the CD-Audios received a copy protection (fake data session).

Bytes 814-830 of Primary Volume Descriptor indicate the Date/Time. PVD starts at absolute sector 16. You may use any Hex Editor to see the content.

Ghitulescu is right. :goodpost: If you have IsoBuster,
goto menu "File" http://forum.doom9.org/images/icons/icon2.gif "Session" http://forum.doom9.org/images/icons/icon2.gif "Sector View".

@rik1138
Hi!
1) In Windows Explorer, set one of the columns in the right pane for "Date Created"
2) Load the disc
3) In the left pane, left click on the drive that contains the disc. The contents (files and folders) will be listed in the right pane, showing both dates and times of creation...

One can set individual date/time for each file....
It's however true for each session too....
