Hi,
Is there a way to get BD-RB to process standard-def extras to MKV? The only MKV options under 'Other movie-only output' are MKV 1920x1080 and MKV 1280x720 and both options upscale to those resolutions.
:thanks:

:thanks:Try adding this to the end of the ALTERNATE.TXT file in the MISC folder:[00010]
caption=MKV Container, 640x480/360, 128Kbs AC3
vBitrate=583
aBitrate=128
aType=0
vFormat=2
cType=1 It'll output to 640x480 (4:3) or 640:360 (16:9) into an MKV format. If you want to audio to be AAC, just change aType to 1. The encoding default is with 1-pass CRF, but you can set it to two pass in the "Other movie-only output" and change the bitrate (vBitrate & aBitrate) as you please. You can select which extra to encode using "Alternate Movie-Only output".
I haven't added a "vFormat" for 720x480 with different display aspect ratios yet -- maybe I'll add that for the next release.

If one pass CRF is the default, does the vBitrate switch do anything?
Also, I'm in PAL-land, if the extras are 720x576 I assume it should be 720x576/400? Also, would it be anamorphic? (are extras on blu-ray anamorphic?)

I'll support 720/480 & 576 when I add that as a "vFormat" option. But right now there is no anamorphic output, it assumes the pixels are square (1:1). I added ALTERNATE mode so I could output for my personal iPod and iPad, and I didn't give much thought to other playback devices that might support anamorphic.
