How much does a video card have to do with bd rebuilder's recompression? does it borrow from the gpu at all? I have a NVidia N250GTS TWINFROZR 1G ddr3 card.. does this help? Just wondering.

In some scenarios offloading the decoding to the GPU can speed up transcoding. You need a source filter that can use the GPU, however.

BD Rebuilder doesn't use the GPU at all. It may someday, but not currently.
