View Full Version : Interlaced or not?

I'm posting here in the newbie section, because I don't understand at all, I guess.

I'm trying to re-encode a (joined) VOB file, allegedly 720x576. When I play it, however, all players play it at 480 in height. Eac3to keeps blabbing about it being a mix between interlaced and progressive; and x264 just encodes the entire thing (successfully) as 720x576. Should I have de-interlaced this? Tsmuxes says it's interlaced, btw.

So, my question to you is, what is it exactly? This should have been a pretty straightforward thing. Very frustrating. :(

Video same (4 sec) is here (http://www.mediafire.com/?2g847ekikaku8n9).

Thanks.

It seems progressive, 720*576, 4:3. However, to make sure it's not interlaced you should have a look at the stream in DGIndex. And use a section with motion!

Thanks. I thought I was getting insane. :)

DGIndex is a cool prog, for certain! I guess it's progressive, really. At least I don't see (http://www.mediafire.com/?e770m5lc38c4t4y) anything that would indicate that this is interlaced.
