MJPEG properties?

My DVR produces MJPEG files, but GSPOT can't read them: how can I know their FPS, resolution and so on?

Even MediaInfo can't detetct file properties! :confused:
I need iFlyPlayer to play these files... but I can't find this program on internet, I found it bundled with my DVR.
Also,MediaPlayerClassic can't play the file, but VLC can.

The look in the Tools > Movie Information in the VLC player, it should tell you everything about it. If it doesn't, stop the video, go to Tools > Messages, change the verbosity level to 2 and start the video and then stop it. Browse the whole text and look for information about your video.

You can also use the VLC transcoding engine to use your files in other ways (than playing), I assume here no other software can play/edit your files. Of course, your first tries should be with vdub, avisynth & co... and only if these do not work, then use VLC. ;)

What container is your mjpg stored in? I'm guessing AVI or MOV?

You should be able to remux either of those to MKV using MKVMergeGUI without issues. I think MediaInfo should give you something useful then.

File extension is just mjpg... I think it's a non-standard mjpeg file, actually. Indeed it requires specific player. Just "by chance" VLC is able to play it.
