I have a HTPC running Win 7 (32bit) with a Radeon HD 4600 video card and a XONAR HDAV 1.3 slim sound card.
I can run Blu Rays in True HD, Master HD and all of the higher end sounds, but when I play a re-encoded mkv file on my KMplayer I cannot get the DTS on my Onkyo to light up unless I do the following...going into KMplayer's internal audio Decoder / Output/ selecting SPDIF output after realtime AC3 re-encoding.
I can also get it to work on TMT3 by switching the audio from HDMI to SPDIF, but I cannot get access to my MKV subtitle files from TMT3....
I'd like to have KMplayer set up for the MKV's and leave TMT3 alone to play the BluRay files.
SOmeone told me that MPC-HC worked better than KMplayer so last night I tried (for 3 hours) to follow the instructions on this page http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=152520
but was unable to even get a stable video output. It was jumpy and had no sound whatsoever.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Also if I need to work backwards from anything I have done in the above mentioned link. Please let me know as well. I replaced my monitor driver with this one
