I can't for the life of me figure out Spider-Man 2 BluRay

Grrrrrrr,

I am trying to encode my Spider-Man 2 BluRay with RipBot but this movie is unlike anything else I have seen before.

The stream folder is made up of loads of .m2ts files. No problem I thought as I can just load the playlist into HDBR extractor and rip out the Video and Audio streams. Well, I get the video stream but the audio stream is only 45min long :rolleyes:

Tried running everything through TSremux, TSMuxer but no joy. Finally I even tried to strip the streams from the playlist via eac3to but everything comes out the same.

Weirdly it seems to have two english TrueHD tracks?

This is one tough cookie of a BR!

any ideas?

It's a seamlessly branched disc. I guess you never ripped Close Encounters or disc 3 of Blade Runner before. Anyway, just feed TSMuxer the mpls file in the playlist folder. Problem solved.

Also, this thread really belongs in the ripping sub-forum.

Yes Close Encounters and other seamless branching movies have all worked fine through HDBRExtractor.

Tried TsMuxer and had the same issues.

Has anyone managed this movie yet?

Have you tried BD-Rebuilder (for either a full disc or a movie only backup)?

grab BDinfo, which should tell you the mpls file is for the movie, and feed it into TSMuxer like Lyle_JP suggested

I ripped it with DVDFab 7 and I had no problem using the resultant mpls file to:
* Index the whole film (and demux audio and video) with DGIndexNV
* Use TSMuxerGUI to create a single m2ts file for use with any app

But if you don't have a useful mpls file, then here's what order to join which files with TSMuxer (assuming you want the 2.1 cut):
0,5,6,8,9,16,17,55,56,22,23,24,25,26,27,30,31,32,33,57,103,50

Thanks for all the replies but that's not really of any use. The ripping is already done and I have all the playlists (as you would with any rip) but the problem is extracting the audio stream.
I've done loads of seamless branching movies before but this one is a royal pain!

The video stream comes out fine but the audio only extracts 41mins. Why does the disc have two english trueHD tracks which to me both look the same?

Has anyone actually got the streams out of this BluRay? I'd use DGIndexNV but I don't have an Nvidia card. There must be someone who has got this working although If any of these guys managed it I would have appreciated some feedback on this thread http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-130575.html. Now that was back in 2007 so someone must have created a utility to handle this.

If I ever get it to work I want to put the streams into RipBot for encoding.

Can BDRebuilder send the untouched movie out into another m2ts file? I've had a quick look and thinking if I set the custom size to 50GB it won't touch anything.

When I ripped with DVDFab 7 in Movie Only mode, I got only one audio track, which was a cinch to demux. You are seeing two because there are apparently audio differences between the two versions where picture would be the same. You can see the same thing on the 3rd Blade Runner disc.

My suggestion is to re-rip with software that is seamless-branching aware, like DVDFab.
