There is MakeMKV (http://www.makemkv.com/). Current beta is still free of cost, but the license will apparently cost EUR 50 + taxes (http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1671).

why do i get the feeling that if it does get released at that rice you are going to see "versions" of it on-line for free.

Does that have an option to just copy the files without converting them? Haven't had a chance to look at it yet

Well, it doesn't convert the tracks themselves, only remuxes them to a Matroska file. I don't think there's an M2TS output mode.

might be a moot point atm as both anydvd (whihc i cant up date as its a trial version) has issues when copying it as does dvdfab, seems its a MKB17 disc

Latest MakeMKV shouldn't have problems with those titles. If it can't rip your disc, report to the official forum.

@Carpo

Hi!Does that have an option to just copy the files without converting them?Yes - In addition to being able to convert BluRay files to .MKVs, MakeMKV can perform a FULL DISC BluRay backup (Including menus) in the BluRay's original format...

Ah, nice to know! This might be worth mentioning on the front page of the MakeMKV site.
