Fast way to go from AVI to MPEG (4)?

I've got some AVI files I'd like to convert to play on the iPhone. There's a product called [spam], but it takes an hour to convert a 400MB file. Are there other faster (and preferably free :) ways to do this easily?

If possible, I'd like the iPhone to see it as a TV Show, but that would just be icing...

Post a MediaInfo "Text" view of one of the files in a codebox in a new post in this thread. You may not even need to re-encode, merely re-mux.
