I'm so sorry if this has been covered before. I just installed DVD Shrink, ImgTool (aka ImgBurn) and DVD Decrypter. I have gone thru the Preferences settings on DVD Shrink and now I am working with DVD Decrypter - I am in the U.S. but want to backup a PAL-format (Europe, specifically UK) disc. Do I change the region code to 2 or keep it at 1 (I ultimately want to watch the backup on a standalone U.S. market DVD player)?
Also, I probably won't be making backups of too many region 2 PAL discs in the future; most will be region 1.
Btw, my burner is a Sony Optiarc AD-7240S.

Hi! ImgTool (aka ImgBurn)
This is incorrect. IMGTool and IMGBurn arre two different programs by two different authors...

Just make it region free.... however it's not the RC that is the problem in the States, it's the inability of most DVD players to play PAL and/or TV set to accept/display PAL signals.

Hello -
I wrote aka ImgBurn for ImgTool b/c when I clicked the Doom9.net DVD Shrink 3.2 guide ImgTool d/l link (from this page (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdshrink31-main.htm)) I received this File Download dialog box:

It appeared to me, an admitted novice, that ImgBurn & ImgTool are one-in-the same. Am I wrong or is the d/l link incorrect? Is this a better spot to d/l ImgTool from (they claim to be "The official ImgTool Homepage") -

My OPPO DV-981HD (http://www.oppodigital.com/dv981hd/index.asp) is able to play PAL discs (I just watched Harry Brown (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1289406/) & Ideal (http://www.comedy.co.uk/guide/tv/ideal/) Series 1 last night).
Thank you for the advice.:)

"IMGTool" is a much older program by "Coujo".
"IMGBurn" is a newer (and actively updated) program by "LIGHTNING UK" (also the author of "DVD Decrypter")

So, do I need ImgTool at all, as the Doom9 DVD Shrink 3.2 guide recommends (even though the ImgTool hyperlink connects to the ImgBurn d/l site)? I already had ImgBurn 2.5.1.0 (from Lightning UK) on my machine.
With all respect, perhaps the DVD Shrink 3.2 guide (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdshrink31-main.htm) needs updating if the ImgTool hyperlink is in fact wrong or outdated?
