DVD To Ipod Out Of Sync

I am trying to convert my dvd to my ipod. I ripped the dvd with dvdfab and all seemed to go well. I then used MeGUI Encoder to encode for my ipod. However after all was done the audio and video is out of sync.

Both dvdfab and Megui are up to date.

I played the dvd rip and that in sync. but my conversion to ipod format is not. The is the first time I have ever had an issuie with MeGUI.

What is the issue? The rip? the encode setting? I am guessing that since it is a new dvd there may be an unseen protection at work?

Any help anyone can give to help me convert to my Ipod would be most welcome.

You may have the "dreaded black lead-in with no audio" syndrome. Start the project in by a few GOPs (to skip the black lead-in) when saving your project with DGIndex.

Dreaded black lead-in??.... hmmm ok... What is that? GOP'S??? I am really sorry but I have never needed to go past point and click till now.

I am assuming that you mean go a second or 2 into the movie before doing the index yes?

Staying a noob only works on simple unproblematic stuff. When you run into problems you have to know what you are doing. You'll just have to do enough research to understand what I am talking about. There is no shortcut.

OK I tried going in a few GOP's and thought it had worked as it was in sync at first but later in the movie it goes out of sync again. I tried re encoding but no difference.

When I use avisynth VideoDub(video, audio) and play it that way through a script all plays fine. But once I actually put them together into a mp4 file it is always out of sync

I need help am sooo lost and soo stuck......

I am still having sync issues when trying to covert my Kick-Ass dvd to mp4 for my Ipod. Using DVDfab and MeGUI. Can anyone out there help me solve this?????

I have tried using DGindex to go from anywhere from a few seconds to 5 minutes into the move. And still no luck.

All I can think of is that somehow it is not being fully decrypted.

neuron2 is right in the I need to learn A LOT more so I can perhaps understand the information in the DGIndex files. But when I try to do a search I get a lot of bittorrents. But am not interested in downloading a torrent. But doing my own conversion of a dvd I already own.

I would love to understand and solve this problem. But I do not even have any idea what I even need to be searching for.

To find recent sync related threads you would use 'sync' as search keyword using the 'Search titles only' option.

Could be this problem:

Sound sync with Baseline profile and r1666+ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=155705&highlight=%2Async%2A)

Regarding the black lead-in problem, neuron2's solution only works if you don't have subtitles, with subtitles you would rip using MakeMKV, generally not a bad idea though some DVD structures like Casino Royal will even with that have a sync problem, ProjectX is currently the only solution I know for that. I'm clueless about the structure of DVDs so I have no idea what the problem is.
