MeGUI AutoEncode outputs raw h264

AutoEncode tends to output rawavc (.264) for whatever you encode with x264. This causes a lot of problems when seeking. (can't seek at all after muxing into mp4/mkv). This is quiet annoying as it renders autoencode... well... useless.

Edit: I tried muxing audio and not muxing audio. The output only defaults to rawavc (.264) when you add audio to it. When there's no remuxing involved, it just outputs mp4 for video (otherwise it outputs rawavc for video). I think this is a problem with MeGUI's auto-mux path finding.

Sounds like a problem with the muxer. I output everything from x264 to raw and mux with mp4box and I have no problems with the resulting mp4 files.

Also, are you using Open GOP by any chance? That seriously hoses seeking on many hardware players.

Nope, not using Open GOP. And it's fine when I output to MP4 and mux using mp4 muxer in megui (basically frontline for MP4Box). Doesn't explain why the AutoEncode outputting raw h264 causes issue with seeking = =. I'm assuming its cause there's no stream information at all with raw avc.

Maybe it is too late but I do not get it. Can you please explain the steps to reproduce the problem in more detail?

All it takes to reproduce this is using AutoEncode with the video encoder set to x264 and any audio will do. Make sure you tick the Additional Options (Audio, Chapters... etc) check-box and then look at the Queue, you'll see x264 set to output as rawavc(.264), once it finishes encoding the video and audio and muxes, seeking is broken on that file.

/edit: Just reread the thread and it seems my answer doesn't help at all. Must have been sleepy yesterday...
Have to agree with the others: more info could be helpful. But it would have to be a really big coincidence if both mp4 and mkv wouldn't allow seeking. What keyint did you choose?

Media Player Classic Home Cinema, splitter is Haali, decoder ffdshow.
