Looking for a fast internal Blueray dvd rom

I need to get a fast internal blue ray rom for ripping blue rays. Can anyone recommend a fast one.

Which DVD-drive is faster, an older 4x drive or a newer 16x one?

I would assume a 8x drive would be faster than a 4x :p it seems quite logic to be this way :p

However, in regard to "silvers" almost [if not all] drives behave the same, 2x, unless one unlocks them.

Look for a Samsung SH-B123A ;) Rips DVDs ~ 8 mins and BDs ~ 16 mins with no "Rip-Lock" on firmware ;)

I ditched my Pioneer BDR-205 for the Samsung SH-B123A :)

That's really good to know, last time I looked there wasn't really any good info on what to get. Is the riplock disabled on all samsungs?

OK so I just did a quick google, looks like it's the same old flash the firmware yourself scenario. No biggie though.
