Convert DVD format to Blu-Ray format including menus

Why?
I have hundreds of DVDs of TV series. I've got media players hooked into every TV in the house. So there's a few options for storing DVDs on my network...

Full rip to ISO - Media players read the ISO files and they come up just like it would if you put the DVD into a DVD player. 5-8GB per disc.

DVD-RB with CCE - Same thing. The quality looks just as good as the originals on pretty much every disc I've tried so far. As long as the quality looks as good to me and the family, I get to decrease the ISO file size down to about 4.5GB and suddenly I can fit heaps more DVD images per hard disk.

Handbrake them to H.264 MKVs - Media players will play these. Quality looks just like the original to me but the file size is now down to around 2GB per disk. So now I can fit HEAPS more on my network. Handbrake can keep all the audio and subtitle streams which is a must. One disadvantage, I lose the menus.

So, I thought a Blu-Ray disc can have it's video streams encoded in H.264 and my media players will play Blu-Ray ISO files. All excited I started madly trying to convert DVDs to Blu-Rays with said compression so that as far as the family was concerned, I was playing the original DVD but with a file size of only 2GB!!!

So far I haven't been able to find a way to convert a DVD menu to a Blu-Ray one. Many programs will create menus but I really want to have the original ones. I've looked for days and I've found some people wanting the same thing, but all sources from over a year ago.

Does anybody know is there a way to do this? It would save me Terabytes of disk space.

You could use the original dvd's menu video and audio to create a custom motion menu, without the original buttons of course, with multiAVCHD.

Did that just come out? I don't think I had even heard of that...

Sounds like it will do exactly what the OP wants for the menus (although if you add many discs worth of stuff to one blu-ray you are going to have to make some changes to the menus anyway I would think...)

I've requested a trial copy, I'll see what it can do... (There's also a downloadable trial of the 'express' version, that might be good enough... Looks like it's $200)

Id like to try it out as well. It seems you'd need to switch out all assets? Doesnt make a whole lot of sense but who knows.

Well, a lot of the assets wouldn't be Blu-ray compliant. Technically, the feature video and audio _should_ be compliant as-is, but their might some meta-data tweaks... But subtitles and menus would have to be converted to blu-ray style subs and menus.

Of course, the discs are muxed completely differently, so the DVD would have to be completely demuxed and rebuilt in the Blu-ray file structure...
