I really like MPC HC but it won't play the TS files properly that I recorded with my PVR. When opened with MPC they often start with a highly pixelated/fragmented image and then freeze after just a few frames, At other times they just refuse to start. These same files when encoded to H264 in MKV play just fine. Rhe YS files play fine in VLC amd WMP. I am running Win7 Pro 64 bit and the standalone version of MPC HC 64 bit, I do not have any third party codecs installed like Sharks007, Klite or FFdshow installed, Anyone have a clue what I am missing.

Post a sample cut from one of the original TS files. Cut it with DGSplit, TSMuxer, or TSSniper, and upload it to Mediafire and post the link here. We will then be able to figure out whether it's a decoder issue that can be fixed by using a different decoder, a problem with the files written by your PVR, or something else.

Try disable DXVA.

turbines, do the following:

-Open MPC or MPC-HC and go to: Options-->Internal Filters-->Source Filters and uncheck "MPEG PS/TS/PVA"

-Download Haali Media Splitter from http://haali.su/mkv/, here's a guide with the settings you need: http://imouto.my/watching-h264-videos-using-dxva/#Step1

Seems MPC's internal TS filter is not very good, so you need to use Haali's.

Hope this solved it for you!
