MP4 Splitting

I have some mp4 files, and i'd like to make a trailer from them without recompressing, like split some parts and join the rest together.
Is there a program to do that or the only choice is to split the chunks and join them together with yamb or similar?

Avidemux is, from my experience, very buggy and incomplete.
Many times when saving videos has the audio ended up out-of-sync.
It doesn't support subtitles, either.
And from what I have seen, there is basically no undo/redo. Just one undo all edits option.
And severely fails when you have lossless audio (FLAC) muxed in your source files. It won't let you even save the video (with or without audio) in that case.
Crashed a couple of times, too.
From my experience, I definitely wouldn't want to recommend it.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong and maybe some things have been fixed somewhere, somehow, but this is from my preliminary experience, anyway.

I wouldn't say you were doing anything wrong. All the criticisms you level at avidemux are reasonable in my opinion.
However, for editing fairly standard (h.264 + AAC) MP4 files I have found it very successful. I find the UI clean and intuitive and it's free.
It does seem to try to be a "Swiss Army Knife" of video converters and unfortunately fails in many respects. However, for the purpose stated in the OP's post I would say from my experience, it is suitable.
As it generally does the job for me, my experience of alternatives has been limited. Perhaps others will offer more stable options.

Depending on how much your time is worth, buying a bigger memory stick might be worth the extra dollars. There is more than one way to attack this problem, depending on what solutions you already have at your disposal. The obvious solution is to divide the MP4 file into smaller files. Another option to consider is splitting the AVI file before you convert it to the PSP-ready MP4. In either case, expect additional time for the conversion process

I have noticed that quicktime pro is able to split mp4 files... is it any good?

I don't think anything that is slapped with Apple is good, because Apple tends to use their own formats and/or use heavy DRM. Plus they use their own proprietary containers (?).
Take this with a grain of salt. I haven't tried it. I just caution that you shouldn't trust anything Apple makes out of the box.

Quicktime will split an mp4 file without re-encoding it, so it's "good."
