Hello. Is there somewhere an objective comparative test of various denoise filters for avisynth? A test with some videos without a noise, then a noise is added to them, denoising filter applied and the result compared to the original with calculating the values of PSNR and SSIM? Thanks in advance.

Yes, but only for gaussian noise (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=114582).
Some attempts were made to simulate blocking/ringing and frequency noise, but never really got off the ground.

Here's a novel idea: someone should try it with an existing noisy source. :P

Thank you, that looks good.

Against what baseline would you rigorously judge them? You have to have both the clean and the noisy source, very few here have any access to tv and film masters. The next best thing is to take a clean source and recreate common problems.

IMHO UHD source (even compressed) after down-scaling (by factor 4 - 8) can be threaten as a free from noise from SD point of view.
