nero recode or handbrake?

Can someone tell me which would produce better results when converting a DVD to MPG4. I have both on the computer and am trying to decide which one to use

Neither. Feed the latest revision of x264 with Avisynth. Handbrake doesn't take advantage of newer Avisynth presets and speed/efficiency gains in more recent builds. Nero doesn't use x264 at all. You might as well use the most efficient H.264 encoder available.

You might as well use the most efficient H.264 encoder available.Huh? There are Handbrake versions with the most recent builds of x264 (just check the nightly builds) if you want the bleeding-edge.

Handbrake is one of the best straightforward solutions for DVD encoding -- not even Avisynth has the magic of decomb.

Oh, I have read some threads that Nero uses Atame which they claimed was better quality results then the x264 encoder. What is your opinion for the best program to encode to mpg4 if i am not that good with maunally handling avisynth?
