Resizing Question

Hi. I am using Virtual Dub to frameserve my VOB files into CCE. What I want to know is for each of the two most common aspect ratios (1.85:1 & 2.35:1) what are the resize values? I know you resize the total frame to 480 x 480, but for each aspect ratio what do i set the height and width value to in the 'Expand Frame and Letterbox Image' option of the resize filter? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

I take it you are trying to make SVCD's:
Since SVCD is 480x480 and should be presented on a 4:3 screen, then the actual screen width is 640 (=480x4/3). So to keep the correct aspect ratio you shoud resize to 480 wide and 640/<aspect ratio> high and set expand frame to 480x480.

Thanx, but this doesnt seem to be working. Virtualdub wont let me enter those values. Are there any other methods, or can you explain that one better? Thanx In Advance

Well it works for me: Just remember to round off 640/<AR> to nearest whole number (you must calculate this in advance) and check the box labeled Expand Frame...
