eeryone seems to have gone to x264, but i need dvd to xvid encoder.

because a hdd player can only play mpeg4.....

how can i set x264 to be compatible?

You can't. Xvid is a MPEG 4 ASP encoder, x264 is a MPEG 4 AVC encoder. They are different video formats.

You could read the older posts (you might remember them, you're one of the earliest members of this forum). It's all written there. If you don't like reading then spend some 19.99$ for a super extra wonder converter you may get with google and carry on.

how can i set x264 to be compatible?You can't. Besides x264 is the name of an encoder, H.264 is the name of the codec.

H.264 is the name of the codec. No, it's the name of a specification for video encoding.
