View Full Version : AutoUpdate function for MPC-HC and/or ffdshow

I've been a loyal user of MPC in the past and MPC-HC in the present, and ever since I've discovered xvidvideo.ru its on my daily pages-to-visit list. As the amount of new releases is very high, it costs me quite a lot of time to download and update it everytime. This also goes for ffdshow.

Would there be an option to include an auto-update function in MPC-HC to get a new build from xvidvideo.ru everytime there is a new version (using the right (x64 or x32) build of course)? Something like the update function in MeGUI or so. If this would be possible for ffdshow as well, that would be even nicer.

I haven't got a clue if this is hard to implement as I am no programmer (would have tried to build something myself if I could), but I thought I'd just throw it into the group.

Go to http://www.xvidvideo.ru/media-player-classic-home-cinema-x86-x64/ (for MPC-HC) and subscribe to its RSS service. Same for ffdshow tryouts at http://www.xvidvideo.ru/ffdshow-tryouts-project-x86-x64/ with its RSS service.

Thank you for the suggestion. Although this is of course not an auto-update function, it would be the second best. Still, I cannot find any RSS subscription possibility on the site, maybe it's hidden somewhere in Russian (a language I do not know)?

Edit: found out it was not on the site itself, I had to click the RSS icon in FF.
Still, this is not the RSS implementation as I was expecting: in this form it is actually quite useless. For solving the 'problem' the RSS service would have to actually deeplink to the releases, so I could click the RSS feed in my Bookmarks toolbar and directly begin to download the file (like is done on eztv.it). Being able to filter the files then is even better (again, like is done on eztv.it), so I can let only the x32 or x64 appear in the list.
