Tool to join Fragmented MP4

Hi,
I trying to find out if its possible and if so how, to join multiple fragments from a IIS Smooth Streaming server. The fragments and formats are discussed elsewhere like here (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=03D22583-3ED6-44DA-8464-B1B4B5CA7520&displaylang=en&displaylang=en) and here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1255246), but it seems that there aren't any tools to actually play or join these files.

Have you tested mkvmerge using concatenation? I don't have any samples of the files, if you could post some that would help.

mkvmerge complains about a unknown format.
