Hi, if anyone knows how to solve my problem, please help me. The detail of problem is below as,

First, I install DVD Shrink into my computer. The installation is successfully done. Then, I shrink my larger-size movie (D9) stored in my computer into smaller-size movie (D5). It seems that everything by DVD Shrink is completed.

The problem happens when I turn off my computer and open it again. When I want to shrink another larger-size movie (D9) stored in my computer into smaller-size movie (D5). I click the icon of DVD Shrink on desktop. However, its icon becomes inactive. No window pops up for DVD Shrink operation. I have tried to click many times, but can't use it (no matter what the source is stored in computer or from DVD9 disk). Thus, I go to control panel to unstall and remove it because I think that there might be some mistake or error of the file. During unstalling DVD Shrink from the computer, there is one file of DVD Shrink unable to be removed. (In fact, all the files inside is supposed to be removed). So, I click ignore that file in order to remove DVD Shrink.

Then, I install DVD Shrink again. But the computer says that I can't install it if I want to replace the same name of folder as previously because there is one file of DVD Shrink left unremoved there. So, I use another name of folder. Then, the installation is completed and DVD Shrink icon becomes shown on desktop again. However, the problem is still the same as before. I can use DVD Shrink only once immediately after installation. However, I can't shrink any movie twice or more afterwards. I try opening my firstly-shrinked movie (D5) stored in my computer by using WinDVD as usual. However, no medium can see my shrinked DVD at all. WinDVD can see only D9 movie. When I try checking out my firstly-shrinked movie (D5) by burning it, any burning tool also can't see its folder to burn it. It can see only D9. However, when I browse into the folder to check if D5 movie is still available. Everything is still there as normal. Nothing abnormal at all. However, it can't be seen and burnt by any medium.

This is very strange to me. This is because, in the past, when I installed DVD Shrink just for the first time, I would then shrink all movies as much as I wanted without any problem. I could see and burn my D5 movie as much as possible by any medium. So, I don't know what is going on with my computer. Do I need other tools or softwares to solve this problem. I don't understand why.

Thanks for your big help, if anyone understands my problem. :thanks:

How about using the "normal" way (since Windows 2.0) of calling a program: start-> program files -> dvd shrink?

I have tried it, but the result is the same. I try to reach the operation of DVD Shrink in many ways, but I still can't. It seems that there is something preventing me from using DVD Shrink.

Hi!

What is the name and size of the file?

Thanks for your question.

This file can't be automatically removed by ADD and REMOVE at control panel. However, I tried to manually remove it again yesterday and it can be removed now.

For Ghitulescu and setarip_old or whoever can help me, I will repeat my problem as simply as I can,

- First, I install DVD Shrink.
- Second, the installation of DVD Shrink is completed and the icon of DVD Shrink is automatically poped up on desktop for easy operation.
- Third, I can use DVD Shrink just once everytime after installation. The first-time operation of DVD Shrink from D9 to D5 seems to be successfully done. But I can't continue any more operation of DVD Shrink again, if I want to shrink my second D9 movie either stored in my computer or from D9 disk. Everything of this program, no matter what I have tried, will become inactive suddenly, after succeeding in the first operation.

If I want to use DVD Shrink again, I need to uninstall and install it over again. But I can use only one time as the same.

After this strange problem, then I go to check my D5 movie firstly shrunk and stored in my computer to see if it can be used or available.

However, I browse through my computer and can see its D5 movie's folder and also all the components of D5 movie files. But the shrunk D5 movie stored in my computer can't be opened through all medium, for example, WINDVD or whatever. Or when I use any burning tool, no burning tools can see my firstly-shrunk D5 movie. So, I can't also burn my shrunk D5 DVD stored in my computer.

I really don't understand why my firstly-shrunk D5 movie can't be either seen or burnt. Moreover, I am hugely puzzled why I can use DVD Shrink just once after installation. However, after the first time operation of DVD Shrink has finished, I can't continue any more operation. DVD Shrink will become inactive in all the ways.

So, anyone knows what is going on with my computer. Do I need any other tool or program to assist this operation of DVD Shrink? This is because, as far as I remember, I had once installed DVD Shrink into my different computer and this program could be used as much as I can without any problem.

Waiting for your suggestion.

I have done it. But it still fails to do the operation with DVD Shrink. The problem still remains the same as previously said. By the way, I had my computer installed again with the same Windows XP as previously. I don't know if it has something to do with DVD Shrink problem. However, as far as I know, all the program looks quite the same.

How about answering my question then:

Hi, please click to see the attachment. That is the name of file unremoved automatically by control panel (Add and Remove). However, I can delete it manually.

By the way, it is very strange that when I compile any movies (no matter what D9 or D5) with any movie tools inside my computer itself, all of them can be seen and burnt.

However, after using those compiled D9 movie stored in my computer to be shrunk with DVD Shrink, that shrunk D5 movie stored in my computer will not be seen or burnt immediately. But I can browse through and see all the components of that D5 in the folder after being shrunk. Everything in the D5-movie folder looks normal. The only problem is that those files in the folder can't be seen by WinDVD (or any medium) or burnt (by any burning tool).

Anyone knows what is going on?
