fastforwarding in tmpg

is there any special procedure that i have to go though to be able to fastforward when making an svcd in tmpg?? or does it have to do anything with bbmpg??

That problem usually shows up if you create the svcd using Nero. Use vcdimager instead. I use version 0.6.2 because it is simple to use on the command line.
