hello! I want convert a 1080i movie to 1080p.
In my pc I use coreavc with bob deint enabled and it is good..
but I want upload to youtube and have 1080.
When I upload in youtube movie became in "slow motion" wathing at every resolution(don't make a good deinterlacing youtube).
So before upload in youtube I want reconvert 1080i to 1080p, so in youtube will be 1080p quality but wuth right speed of movements
Here there is a sample...
http://www.mediafire.com/?hytjdtyjien
can you help me to convert to 1080p without loss quality(or loss a little)?
thanks

You'll probably have to use AVISynth to deinterlace the video, then transcode it. Even then, Youtube only supports up to 30 FPS I believe, so it'll never run as smoothly as a bob deinterlaced source (~60 FPS).

1) open your .ts file in RipBot264
2) select CRF18
3) save as mkv (works better with youtube also you don't have to transcode audio)
4) click on properties button
5) under deinterlace select TFF -> 25 fps

Get yourself a favour and buy an Nvidia card + DGNVTools. Deinterlace in hardware is much better and faster.

No doubt that it's faster.

For the claim that it's better, or even "much" better, you need to give proof.

(I don't have DGNVTools [yet] - be assured that IF I had it, comparisons would be posted...)

(Every once in a while, people praise GPU deinterlacing to heaven. How comes that nobody does ever show a before/after result? Preferaby with source for reproducability? Without such, all is just claims and blabla.)

How comes that nobody does ever show a before/after result? There are examples in the DGNV thread. I'm searching the 51-page thread right now for them. :)

Of course, in the DGNV thread! -- *slaps forehead* -- It's embarrassing how braindead one can be at times! (Me myself, I mean.)

I'm searching the 51-page thread right now for them. :)
If you're actually bored, then do so ... but you surely have better things to do? - THAT search I can do on my own. No need to waste your time with that.

doesn't work...result is in slow motion..can you try on my test file?

thankyou very much..
but i don't like a lot :(
audio is out of sync and video seems sometimes slower..
in fast scene deinterlacing don't create a fluid effect..
in my original video in real time with coreavc I use Bob deinterlacing (preferred for these type of videos)..
is not possibile have a similar result as a real time deinterlacing using bob?
thanks

ps: test video converted by atak seems better

Listen! Youtube does not allow 50 fps! In this case you are limited to 25fps. No wonder that video is not very smooth! Stop complaining and do it your self.

1°) i haven't upload to youtube, so a write about converted video with ripbot264
2°) main problem of converted video is audio syncronization
3°) about smooth I know that with 25fps is less smooth(it isn't a problem), but problem is caused by deinterlacer used that cause a "strange" effect in fast scenes...deinterlacing method isn't good as bob(that I used in real time on my original video) in this type of video (maybe is used blend, I don't know, but for football maches bob give a better result)..ok but it isn't a big problem, expecially because youtube will make a conversion
4°) I'm asking an help in the best forum of video encoding..if I solved problem by myself didn't write here
5°) I can't believe that there isn't a method to convert 1080i to 1080p without that problems

Audio and video are in sync for me. So it's a problem of your pc, probably. As Atak_Snajpera said, youtube will convert it to 25 fps anyways, so there is no reason to bob it. Tested this video on youtube already, and it looks great for youtube, imo.

it isn't sync and it isn't my pc problem ;)
audio arrive later (try to see differences on the first gol for example, auaio arrive later, and seems that this desync became more in the time)
ok about deinterlacer, isn't a real problem, ma async is a problem (and seems that it isn't constant)
if you have youtube link, can I have? :)

Please describe how you solved it, so others can benefit.

audio async was about 1 second (I observed after that was costanst)

I demux audio e video of mkv with tsmuxer
I cut first second of ac3 audio (besplit)
remux video and new audio with tsmuxer in ts format
change container in mkv using gdemux of haali matroska splitter
