hello there.
i've recently found gordian knot, after using AGK and megui for my backups.
after using GK for a couple of times, i came to the conclusion that it works much much more better than AGK. at least i dont get unexpected undersized encodes.
but as i used it, i also noticed that it needs some updates, specialy in making t compatible with newer version of softwares like dgindex. so i was wondering, if someone could say if this wonderfull GK project is being updated or not, and wot are the chances of making it reborn.
kudos and many tks in advanced.

I'm afraid GK is dead for good. You might give a try to StaxRip (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=102652), RipBot264 (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=127611) or MeGUI (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=151159) which are all actively developed and updated on daily-basis (well, almost ;))

4 real? its an awesome tool.
i've used megui and i really think its a freaking good tool, the best to be frankly. but ive found some problems as stated on my post http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=154932
but when i've started using GK those problems ended. if you then can give me a hand on megui, i would reaaly apreciate. 2 bad GK is dead...

Sorry, I personally do not use any of the GUIs I mentioned. All I need for my A/V tasks are eac3to, Simple x264 Launcher (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=144140) and AvsPmod (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=153248&highlight=AvsPmod) and DGIndex of course. If you have problems with MeGUI then go ask for help in its own thread, I'm sure there will be someone kind and knowledgeable enough.

Which version are you using and are you using the version of XviD which comes with AutoGK? Lastly, do you have the ESS compatibility option enabled?
The problem you describe sounds like a problem with some versions of the XviD codec, not AutoGK.
See the release notes for version 2.47

Well that sounds like the cause of your undersize problem.
If you have AutoGK's option for ESS compatibility enabled (Ctrl+F9) and you don't need it, disabling it should fix the problem. Or alternatively, go back to the version of XviD which came with AutoGK.
Most versions of XviD are broken in respect to the ESS option and achieving the correct target file size.
