Rip-it-4me says the DVD is episodic and lists a lot of vob files and totals 60+ gig. What to do?

Total 60+ Gig = some sort of copy protection that isn't being defeated. See what DVDFab's decrypter component says about it.

Have tried Fab 5&6. Get error code 401. Tried cleaning and dvd looks good. The movies are Transformers 2 and the new Alice in Wonderland.

Well, those aren't episodic DVDs in the traditional sense of the term. There's something else going on here.
Edit: "401" is quality unreachable. You only want to decrypt, don't use the trial shrink function.

@carlsbond
Hi!
According to posts in the following thread, DVDFab v.6.1.2.5 and more recent can properly process the "Transformers 2" DVD:

Just released DVDFab (etal) v.6.1.25 indicated to properly do a full rip of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" (also known as Transformers 2)...
Regarding the just released "Alice in Wonderland", it typically takes a day or two for new solutions for new copy protection schemes (as this Disney release may contain) to appear.

DVD Fab 7.0.4.5 handles the new "Alice".
