Seamless Branching Blu-ray

Hi. is there a tool out there or a way to add or replace subtitle track to a seamless branching blu-ray title? something like add a subtitle track per playlist or something?

There are 2 guides here on the forum that explain how to insert a subtitle to a seamless branched disc.

WARNING: There is no freeware program that can do that, so it will be very difficult to do it. I don't think that there is a movie that is worth the trouble.

hi. thank you for the quick reply. i know about those methods but as you said its very hard to sync subtitles for more than 100 m2ts (T2 Skynet edition contains 3 versions). do you know if i can do that with scenarist + bd reauthor? i mean create a scenarist project with BD Reauthor, load it into scenarist and just add subtitle stream to all 3 playlist and than compile. is that doable?

The subtitle isn't added to a playlist, it is added in a m2ts file. Anyway you are looking at it, the subtitle must be broken into pieces and edit every m2ts individually.

Hi. well its an ants job i dont have time for. i wish we could do this kind of things in MultiAVCHD or similar program. in a mean time i guess i'll have to choose one version.

Well, if you can get it back into Scenarist BD you don't have to manually edit the subtitles to each M2TS. Scenarist does it for you based on timecode (so all of the video clips would have to have proper timecode).

Easy enough when building a disc from scratch (since you make sure all your timecodes are correct), but I'm not sure if timecode is kept when using BD Reauthor to rebuild the project... And then you need the subtitles in Blu-ray format with matching timecode...

And there's other things to consider, like making sure no one subtitle even crosses the seam between two Clips (this usually causes the subtitle to flash, and will sometimes cause a buffer problem and fail the layout...)

I'm trying to add subtitle track to "T2 Skynet Edition" which contains 3 versions, while trying to keep all 3 versions.
