Backups not playing in stand alone

First of all I just want to say thanks to everyone who replies and helps me out with this problem. I am new to making Blu ray backups. My first 3 attempts have resulted in coasters. I will post logs at the end of this post. My problem is the disks that I burn are not working in my stand alone player. The player is an LG BD390. The disks that I am using are Verbatim BD-R LTH type 2x SL. I first tried DvdFab7, wrote to the HD and then burned, didn't work. I then tried dvdfab7, write to HD then Nero to burn, didn't work. I then tried Anydvd, write to HD, then Imgburn to burn, didn't work. All these disks will play in the PC but not the stand alone. As far as disk structure is concerned I have a BDVM and Cert. folder on all the disks. Though some of the folders such as AUXDATA, are empty. The combination of your specific player and the media you are using is likely the cause of your problems.

Thanks for the link and information. I will of course try different media, that was my first thought on what the problem is. Also, I have "verify" checked on my IMG burn. I will uncheck that asap. Thanks. If anyone has this stand alone player, LG BD390, and uses a specific type disk, please let me know. I am burning with a Pioneer BDR-205. Thanks.

I'm at work now and can't remember the name of my standalone player. But it is one of those cheap all region players. I experienced the same as you with the movies not playing in my standalone. My solution was to do a movie only rip. And it played flawlessly. I don't know if you want to burn movie only, but it might be worth a try.

My first attempt was a movie only rip. The more I have read I think it might be the disks. The "low to high" disks seem to be the problem. I am waiting on a reply from someone who has an LG390 to tell me what disks they started using. Thanks for the help.

I did read all of the posts in this thread. I am convinced that it is the LTH disks that I am using. But I would still like to hear from someone who has a BD390 and what disks they are using for backups.

I have read it a few time now and there is only one guy who mentions that he has a BD390 and said that LTH disks also did not work on his player. He said he bought Verbatim disks that where not LTH and those worked. No one else mentions anything else about disks for a BD390. Unless I'm missing something, please point it out to me.

The flavor of the entire thread (with one exception) is "don't use LTH - I've tried this other type/brand/format disc and it works..."

I would like to say that I received a 20 pack of these disks today Verbatim BD-R LTH type 2x SL from Newegg.com. I ripped them to my Hard drive with MakeMkv under Windows vista. Then like DK posted in this thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1393676#post1393676 I compressed and burned Invictus and Avatar using BD Rebuilder 33.06, Imgburn, and my Blu-ray burner LG GGW H20L Y05 to these 25 GB discs and they played perfectly on My Sony BDP-360 standalone blu ray player with the latest firmware. So it may be your BD390 blu ray player. Just a thought though.

See the attached file. It was found by me after countless searches and problems. Follow it closely and it should solve your problems. Invest in a BD-RE. It will save you a lot of money on testing. Props to the person who made this guide. It helped with all my needs. My 2 y/o has just about massacred the rest of my Blu Rays so this guide saved me a lot of money. If you don't want to use ANYDVD because it only lasts 21 days, use DVDFAB Passkey7 or above. That way, you pay nothing for software. Another thing is that I had to take the pictures out because the file was too large. The directions are there though. Any questions, just ask.
