Hi,

I often get FLV files from Internet and start to play them with MPC-HC before they are fully downloaded. MPC-HC opens them and plays correctly but it seems it can only play the movie as it was in the moment of opening despite the fact that usually the whole data has already been downloaded. This makes me to reopen the file again and skip forward till the moment the first playing was stopped.

Is MPC-HC available to configure to verify the file length has been increased since the moment of start and continue with playing without manual reopening the file? Has any other player such a feature?

Thanks in advance

I don't thing it's a good idea to share file between to applications, because it can cause many problems...
You can experience it sometimes under Windows... ;)

Try VLC. I've seen it properly reading captures that were halfway done using the ASF-container.

This works on transport streams.

I do this all the time, what kind of problems do you mean?

Are you sure? I never noticed.

In fact, I think it works but duration is not updated: when the total duration displayed by MPC-HC is reached, it keeps playing the file until the end ...
