Turn Off Intel Virtualization Technology in the BIOS?

I have read about this feature of my CPU and it seems it would be useful if I wanted to run multiple operating systems - I do not intend to do this.

What I use my Windows XP 32bit SP2 computer for is:

Internet browsing, email.

Video encoding and editing at a basic level (mostly use x264 CLI, HCEnc, Avisynth, Avidemux, Virtualdub, other standalone apps.)

Play audio files.

Watch videos.

Gaming - occasionally online multi-player.

I am thinking about saving power and possibly generating less heat.
Any expert think that disabling Intel Virtualization Technology would disable any feature that would be used and useful to me?
Should disabling it save running power (even a very small amount)?

Disabling CPU instructions doesn't save any power, it just makes the CPU send a SIGILL whenever that feature is used.

So leaving this feature Enabled is something I may as well do, it will give me no benefit by disabling it? Thanks Dark Shikari.

I am using an Intel motherboard DP965LT (with the newest BIOS), I wonder why they even give an option to Enable or Disable it why would anyone want to turn it off if there is no advantage to doing so? It just makes us waste our time making a pointless decision about it.

The only benefit is that you can be 100% sure that your OS isn't running inside a VM :p
