Not sure if the question make sense to to expand.

Encoded some 1080p video from a BD title using Handbrake (I tried megui and x264 but it hung for some reason) and then authored it to a AVCHD folder to burn to a DVD. I then tried to play this in an Oppo BDP-80 BluRay player. The audio was fine, the picture was highly pixellated yet the same disc plays fine in a PS3. Upon contacting Oppo support they said it's likely due to

"This is likely due to the player not supporting p-frame weighting. This will be added to the next firmware release for the BDP-80."

I have no idea what that means in terms of x264 since I can't see an option to turn on p-frame weighting and therefore turn it off.

Can anybody help out here?

Thanks

Well I guess *I* won't be buying their unfinished player then.

Well that parameter change fixed the problem and given there is a new firmware coming that will fix the problem I am reasonably pleased with my choice of player. As a point of interest my email query on the problem was answered in an hour by Oppo tech support.
